Diecast Toys Made From Die Casting Process

Die cast toy refers to any model or toy formed by the use of die casting method. Die casting is the process in which the molten metal is forced under high pressure to the mold cavities which are then machined into the dies. Die casting process results in the formation of diecast toys or die-cast toys. Mostly, die castings are prepared from non ferrous metals including copper, zinc, lead, aluminum, tin and magnesium based alloys. However, die casting is also possible by the use of ferrous metals. Applications for which die casting method is most suitable include applications having huge quantity of tiny to medium sized parts that are required with good detail, dimensional consistency and superior surface quality.

Die castings are considered to be the highest volume products in the metalworking industry due to its level of versatility. In current years, injection molded plastic parts are used in place of die casting products because injection molded plastic parts are lighter and cheaper. If we do not consider the hardness and strength, plastic parts are good option. Advantages of using die casting method to form diecast toys are:

• Cast surfaces produced are smooth

• Secondary machinery processes are eliminated.

• Production rates are rapid.
